A new concept: Created by directors for directors

The Director’s Hub is the result of attending one too many networking events that promised little and delivered nothing.
Why do people network?
For a number of reasons.
The view of the Hub is that networking should be about building meaningful relationships with business peers.
What is the purpose of the Director’s Hub?
The Hub has been created to bring together business leaders who want to meet other leaders who are open to networking, business opportunities and collaborations.
What is unique about the Hub?
Having run a series of events in June 2021 participants consistently commented on the value of the themed interactive networking.
No other organisation is facilitating networking and collaboration in this way.
What the Hub Offers
A new way of networking exclusively for business owners and directors.
Events bring together directors who want to explore new ideas and interact with other business owners. The events are free with admission is at the discretion of the Hub. Only business owners and directors are eligible to attend and all participants will be vetted. This is to ensure the integrity of the network is maintained as it grows.
Similar to teambuilding exercises, this interaction will flex your intellectual muscle whilst working with other directors, providing a unique experience.

What is coming up at the Hub? Events are held once a month and each will have a core theme to promote discussion.
We are currently using Eventbrite for bookings; this enables us to gather feedback before investing in bespoke systems.
Events are designed to drive engagement and will be facilitate by a qualified business coach.
Platform: Currently Hosted on Zoom and utilising small breakout rooms.
Theme: Every event will have a unique theme, this foundation for discussion will be introduced by a expert speaker through a short (5-10 minute) presentation.
– 24 hours in advance an attendee list is circulated

The Networking: Not everyone finds that networking and starting conversations comes naturally. The purpose of themes is to create a common interest that acts as an ice-breaker and avoids the awkward introductions when joining conversations.
Until everyone is comfortable attending events in person Zoom will be used; having attended hybrid events they simply do not work for this format.
The interactive networking element will use breakout rooms, groups of 3 or 4 will be randomly assigned.
What is the Cost?
Events are free to attend.
Who is Invited to Attend
Business owners and director, all participant details will be checked to ensure eligibility.
The Future of the HUB
Every business needs a vision, this is ours.
In the early days we envisage running monthly networking events and will adjust the frequency as demand dictates.
The event series that sparked the creation of the hub saw collaboration and business generation immediately.
Anyone can tell a story at a networking event, the purpose of the Hub events is to spark debate and interactive with your peers. This builds a level of trust and helps form genuine relationships.
Currently there is no membership fee because we do not have overheads.
Developments and website functionality will be shaped by users to reflect what is wanted. If these require investment then a decision may be made to introduce a membership or event fees.
The Director’s Hub Rules
The Hub is designed to be a safe space where you can talk openly and honestly with your peers. As such we set out a couple of ground rules:
Open – Full Participation
Honest – Self Truth
Fair – No Judgement
Chatham House Rule: When a meeting, or part thereof, is held under the Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.
This creates a confidential and safe space, if you are not comfortable discussing or disclosing something there is no pressure to do so.
These sessions only work when you are all engaged. If you are not going to openly participate this concept is not for you.
